Great handling pistol. Beautiful to look at, with lots of compliments. Only shot 100 rounds through it at police qualifying, scoring 100 on the second 50 rounds. However twice the gun failed to go into battery and the slide needed a little tap. After a cleaning I’ll test it to ensure it is functioning properly before I EDC.

I’d love this gun if I could gigure out why it’s not feeding rounds, when I got it it appeared to have never even been test fired, no test rounds included and could tell it had never been fired. Using Wilson combat elites and also tried the mag that came with it, took it down twice, cleaned and adjusted the extractor stil either 3 point ftf or a partial feed where the cartridge is captured on the top quarter of the cartridge and at a nose up into the breach? So for now I’m only going with a 3 for looks anyways!

Ive wanted a bobcut/ bobtail 1911 for sometime now and already knew the mac was my choice but that daggone billboard on the slide dettered me. Thier website showed they had realized that they needed some class on an otherwise beautiful firearm and im happy to report that the brand logo is now very small and this 1911 looks every bit as classy as the dan wesson ive wanted for years. Its accuracy is stellar, trigger is amazing once you take up the creep, and the adjustable sights with fiber optic front is a solid combination. The hard chrome finish is not nearly as glossy as some pics make it seem which is good to me as i prefer a brushed stainless. The feed ramp is nicely polished and ive had no malfunctions although my round count hasnt exceeded 1k. Anyway, it really is a beaut! You wouldnt believe how much more comfortable the bobbed grip is. Id also like to mention that the chain link fence type serrations are amazing and hold better than any line checkering on other 1911s' I own. Guys...this is really a steal of a deal!

Although the price is pretty steep, still cheaper than the other manufacturers and just as good quality in my opinion. This is my second Metro Arms Corp purchase within a 2 month period and couldn't be happier. I bought this for my small framed wife and after a few minor adjustments she is hitting the target right where she aims. The fit and finish is awesome, the slide to frame fit is perfect' just make sure you keep it oiled because it is a tight fit. Modifications I had to make: When trying to dissemble the firearm for the initial cleaning I had to fight with it quite a bit to remove the barrel bushing to get the recoil spring out. It was very difficult, I had to use a flat blade screw driver to press down and pliers to turn the bushing very carefully. Turns out the guide rod was too long so I shaved it down enough so that it would clear the bushing flange like any other 1911. Now it works as it should and I can use a typical bushing tool to remove it. Modifications I chose to make for my wife: This firearm comes with a very stiff recoil spring and because my wife does not have a lot of strength in her grip she struggled with much difficulty to rack the slide. So I replaced the recoil spring with a lighter spring and now she can rack the slide as needed. Because she has fairly small hands I also replaced the magazine slide release with an extended slide release and replaced the magazine release button spring with a lighter one as well. The only other change was to use 185 grain ammunition instead of the typical 230 grain rounds. These changes have made this Bobcut commander 45ACP a perfect fit for my wife and she loves it now!! So because of the guide rod issue I had to give this 4 stars. I wanted very much to give 5 stars but I just couldn't considering the oversight at Metro Arms of this primary very obvious misfit. If I could have given 4.5 stars I would have. Would I buy it again? In a heart beat!!

I would have given a five star but the firearm i purchased the adjustment screws for windedege on rear sight are burred and thats a shame because the firearm is beautiful!!!!!

My second 1911 made by Metro arms,very high quality. For the money they cant be beat. Buds shipped very fast and the price was great. I will deal with Bud's again.

Fit and finish are great. Stock mag didn't feed well, no problem with kimber mags. Fiber optic in front sight came lose around a thousand rounds. Still pretty pleased with it.

Bought this well over a month ago, At a great price!!! Compared to anything I could find Locally, I mean not even close. Saved over $100. Thanx Buds!! Finally had time to go to the range. Before I did I stripped it down completely. very good cleaning, put Frog lube on it, I use Frog Lube on all my Weapons. Put 200+ rounds thru it, all Federal white box range ammo, using Armscor, Metro Arms, and Wilson Combat Mags. FLAWLESS!! Not one hiccup of any kind. I thought my Rock Island was a great value, this has everything you need. I only changed the grips, VZ's, and put a Wilson Combat extended slide release on it!! and its a shooter right out of the box. Did a 10 yrd and a 15 yrd test, it was right on everytime. Can't say enough about this 1911. I will buy each of the other 2 versions of this MAC!!

Phenomenal pistol! Always wanted a round but commander 1911, but the price of the Sigs, S&Ws, & Ed Browns was out of the budget, thus out of the question! Then this beauty comes along and eat every FMJ & JHP from various manufacturers without a single failure! 250 rounds and counting and the groups are within an inch both at 7 & 10 yards! The Bobcut grip feels like it was made for my large hand! Next I put on the Crimson Trace laser grips and that just simply set it off to be my favorite gun! Bought it when the price dropped below $550 and Buds delivered it to the FFL within 5 days after purchase! It came with a beautiful high gloss finish and super tight slide to frame fit...I expected nothing less from MAC! I want to shoot this gun every week! Only downfall is that it came with one ACT mag, but since I one several guns from the Philippines, I have several ACT mags and it works superbly with each of them! This Bobcut is a great gun and Buds gives great service. I highly recommend this gun! How much? When the price dipped below $550 again, I ordered a 2nd one!
