Very good shotgun in 20 gauge, very comfortable and long distance, with extra Full choke.

I have been a fan of Savage/Stevens since 1967. I got a Stevens 311 12 ga. Later I got a Savage Mod 30 pump 12. A few years ago I got the MKII FV 22 LR Bolt gun and today I just picked up my Mod 301 Stevens 29 ga Turkey gun. Love at first sight. It is well made. I see a little bit of the H&R in the barrel release button. No more damaged web between the thumb and first finger from a side by side lever.
The gun is tight and smooth when opening and closing the breech. When it locks up it is locked. It has an east takedown for cleaning. Basically it is a 3 piece gun...butt, barrel and forend. Chambered for 2 3/4 and 3" it is a turkey gun or a squirrel gun, probably a good coyote gun too. It comes with a XX-Fill Turkey choke and was designed for the Federall TSS turkey loads. The fit and finish all around is very nice. It balances great and is light weight. I can't wait to get it to the range.
It comes with a Picatinny/Weaver rail attached for a Red Dot. All in all, it is a very nice, well built gun and because it is a Stevens/Savage, it is a gun you can trust.
