  • Robert, S&W lists this as Action: Double Action Only (Striker Fired Action). What this means is that racking the slide pre-cocks an at-rest striker and the trigger pull finishes cocking the striker, then releases it to fire the pistol. The firing/cycling of the slide repeats this process until the pistol is empty.

  • This is a STRIKE FIRE pistol. Which is slightly different to double or single action. However, the M&P line pistols are listed by manufacturer as technically DAO (double action only). I hope this helps

  • The M&P series are striker fired, not really double or single action, it has short take up, hits a wall then breaks clean, the action cycles, then the trigger has a short reset and a clean break for.quick follow up shots.
    No restrike capability.
