How many mags does it ship with? Are extra mags readily available? I have another Sar handgun, .45 K2, awesome shooter... but attaining additional mags was costly and a hassle.

This comes with 2 mags. As far as spares, hopefully easier than the K2. I own a K2 myself. There are some pretty good reviews for this pistol. I imagine a little digging outta turn up some mags. Hope that helps!
