The Umarex HK HK416 is a gas operated blowback, select fire, BB repeater. It can fire in both semi automatic, and six round burst, rather than full auto. It is 28 inches in length with the stock collapsed, abs 32 inches in length with the stock fully extended, and weighs 5.26 pounds. It utilizes a 500 round internal hopper, that feeds into a 36- round, follower assisted, internal magazine. The 416 is equipped with a full metal flash suppressor, and 14 -inch smooth bore barrel. It features a molded quad rail fore end, with a 9 inch monolithic rail on the top, 8.5 inches of rail at the 3 and 6 o clock position, and 2 inches in the left at the 9 o clock position. It has a permanently attached flip up front sight post and ring, which folds down into a recessed position on the top rail. The 416 features ambidextrous, non-functioning molded in bolt release, and mag release. The mag release on the right side is functional, as is the ambidextrous selector switch. The drop out magazine is metal and polymer construction, and utilizes two, 12 gram CO2 cartridges. It is identical in design to the magazines used by the Steel Force, and both magazines are interchangeable. The trigger is full metal, with a full metal trigger guard. The charging handle is polymer, and features an extended catch, which must be pulled to fire the first round. The flip up rear sight is removable, and is identical in design to the real steel 416 aperture sight. The 416 is equipped with an HK style slimline pistol grip, which is molded into the shell. It also features a slimline six position butt stock. This gun is the successor to the Umarex Steel Force, and it utilizes the same internals as that Airgun. Both are clocked at 450 fps, but capable of exceeding that above 70 degrees in semi auto. It is accurate, and can easily hit eight inch targets out to thirty meters. I use it for running ready up drills, and to maintain muscle memory. I own the Steel Force as well, and the 416 is just as reliable. If you want an economical and safe training aide, then this is it.
