COLT XSE LIGHTWEIGHT GOVERNMENT 45 ACP - Stainless/Silver, 5" Barrel, 8+1 Rounds, Composite Grips

I recently purchased this exact model from Buds. The actual weapon is as pretty in real life as it is in the picture. I fired 200 rounds of 230 grain full metal jacket, plus 50 rounds of 185 grain packeted semi wadcutters. Zero malfunctions of any kind. Accuracy was fine at 7 yards. Measured trigger pull out of the box was 5 1/2 pounds. This is a series 80 pistol. Perfect for a carry gun. The gun came with a long guide rod and single recoil spring. Sites are fixed, three-dot Novak’s and are just as cramped as all the other Novak sights. The gun came in a nice hard plastic case, with two 8 round, flush fit Colt magazines. The feed lips on the mags are the parallel Wadcutter style. The trigger is a typical, long, three-hole setup. Not my favorite but most people do prefer that style. Recoil was fine, a bit more than the 6-ounce heavier all steel model. Movement of the slide on the aluminum is not as smooth as the steel frame guns. My only nits to pick—besides the cramped sights and long guide rod, is that the thumb safety is hard to put on. If it doesn’t shoot in, I may need to detail strip the weapon and wave a file over that thumb safety. Overall, I gotta tell ya, this lightweight gun with the target wadcutter is just a joy to shoot! If you carry more than you shoot, this Talo Colt LW Government model is a great choice, and an excellent value. I give it 5 stars.
