Springfield Armory 1911 Ronin 45ACP 4.25" Blued/Satin Aluminum (2) 8rd Mags

Picked up the Ronin 45 ACP 4.25 from my FFL and once again a very easy transaction with Buds. Going the Qualified Professional route and securing a Springfield Armory Firstline pistol, the savings was incredible. I had no idea I would score three mags with this very low price purchase. Springfield keeps making great firearms! The Ronin was pleasant to shoot and cycled various types of 45 ACP. Hand grips are thinner than on any other 1911 ACP that I own and overall the weight is lighter due to the Aluminum frame. Neither are bad traits, just be aware of it when purchasing. Cycled 550 rounds to date with stock magazines, old Colt 7 round magazines and Wilson Combat 8/10 round magazines, no issues. This is a keeper and can be a nice carry gun with the right holster. For me Fiber optic front sight is blah for me but they do the job, would rather have a XS big dot in the front for my aging eyes and may do that soon. The recoil impulse is a slightly more than an all steel frame/slide 1911 but not to the point it's uncomfortable. If you're in the market for a commander size 45 ACP that will cycle defense and training ammunition this will do it. Great weapon and glad I pulled the trigger on an aluminum frame 1911.
