Perfect product, even better price. Everything was received as described and the price was unbeatable. 1,000% recommend buying from Buds and will be a repeat customer. Shipping is very slow if you choose the ACH payment option but other than that great experience.

I've had good luck with 783's in the past so I thought that I'd give this one a try. This is a great "value" rifle. After cleaning the barrel, adjusting the trigger, re-torquing the action screws to spec (actually, 5 inch/lbs heavier), and mounting a "budget" scope, I headed-out to the range for break-in and zeroing. I was immediately rewarded by sub-MOA 5-shot groups with the first two brands of factory ammo tested (Hornady Match 140's and 147's). While subsequently getting things precisely zeroed (i.e., literally shooting the "X" in the X-ring, the rifle posted a couple of clover leafs with Hornady Match 147s. With a heavy 24inch barrel floated in a dimensionally stable laminated stock, this thing has the potential to accurately reach-out to 1000yds (which is far more doable in the modern era of laser range finders and ballistic Apps). I should note that the heavy barrel and stock make for a pretty heavy rifle (but far lighter than my 6.5 gas gun with a similar length barrel, which is in-turn lighter than my Ruger Precision rifle). Also the trigger is "hunting" good, but far from a Jewell or Geissele (that, added to the cost of the scope and rings, would exceed the cost of this rifle). I should also mention that the larger bolt knob may have limited clearance for your rear scope cover, and that it is a "screw-on" item that benefits from some loctite on the threads and re-titghtening. Aside from that, this is a very capable rifle at an incredible bargain price (less than the price of a nice barrel blank). I should also add that the recoil pad on this rifle seemed less "spongy" than the pad on the synthetic stocked 783, but the recoil of the 6.5 Creedmoor is no big deal in a rifle of this heft. I also had no issues mounting a lightweight bipod on the front sling swivel. In brief, this rifle was basically everything that I typically expect in a old school long range rifle but at a fraction of the cost. Mine was $464 delivered from Bud's so the price may be creeping-up in response to increasing demand as the word gets around on this thing. One last thing, if you want a spare mag, this rifle uses the same "short action" mags as those used for .308/.243 783's (which seem to differ from 22-250 SA 783 mags).
