Steel & shotgun rounds don't mix well at close range. You risk ricocheting bird & buck at close range. I have this and while it does handle the impact, I'm never shooting at it from a range closer than 25-30+ yards away. That's when I'm going red dot & slugs.

Hi Jacob and welcome. It will work but not recommended due to ricochets unless angled properly. 20 yards and a 15° angle will work. Any closer and a 45° Angle will work. Further out past 40 yards and regular setup will work. ----- https://sssfonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Steel-Resource-Guide-Ltr.pdf ---------------- Cheers and stay safe!

Jacob, yes but wouldn't really recommend steel targets for shotguns. Bird shot and buck shot ricochet really easy. Most manufacturers recommend atleast 25 yards between you and the target for bird/buck shot and further for slugs. So yes it'll handle it but shotguns and steel targets at close range really don't go together. For shotguns I'd personally go with a softer target like the self healing ones. Sorry but hope this helps.

Jacob, this is rated for centerfire rifles, so yes, it would handle a shotgun, but I wouldn't use it at close range. At least 10 yds for birdshot/buckshot (lead shot, not steel) and 100 yds for slugs. Also make sure your target is angles slightly towards the ground so the shot will deflect downward.
Stay safe & have a great day!
