I’m confused as this appears to be a duty size pistol. Why does it come with a 15 round magazine? Is this for states that will not allow for more than 15 rounds? Will this pistol accept 17 round mags?

Phil, this is precisely the case. This APX will accept the 17rd magazines no issue. Both the 10rd and 15rd versions are to accommodate restricted capacity States. There is also the Centurion 15rd version that needs the magazine sleeve to cover the space gap of the 17rd magazine. The sub compact 13rd APX also has a sleeve to take the 17rd magazine as well.
