Hi Robert, Kimber (Series II) pistols use a Swartz Safety. Kimbers are neither a Series 70 nor a Series 80. The Swartz safety are parts that don't exist on either a S70 or S80. From the factory, Kimber uses a Series 70 extractor, a Series 70 grip safety, a Series 80 firing pin stop plate, and a proprietary firing pin (esp. for the Swartz.)

It's a Swartz Safety which is a pseudo 80 series type that moves the firing pin safety with the grip safety instead of levers that bear against the trigger group and is a much improved trigger pull.
