If you are referring to the P in JHP its for a Polymer IE Polymer frame if you mean the +p its rated for the hotter +p 45acp ammo

It means it's rated for +p ammunition. +P ammunition is a little bit higher of a velocity and pressure than standard ammo, most modern firearms can handle +p ammo but not all. Usually only defense ammo is +p rated and manufacturers recommend limited use of it cause it can wear out parts of the firearm quicker than standard pressure ammo. Hope this helps.
