So a family member of mine would have to purchase this from an ffl for me, so being 18 I wanted to know if this would be allowed to be in my posession for home defense. Like you would with a normal shotgun for an individual under 18. And i live in missouri if that helps.

Brock, a family member cannot purchase it for you but for them self as it will be registered to them. You can most certainly use it in the home for self defense. Someone else purchasing this for you would be considered a Straw Purchase which is a no no. It’s a federal offense to knowingly purchase a firearm for someone else. In the U.S, a purchaser of a firearm from a FFL who lies about the identity of the ultimate possessor of the gun can be charged with making false statements on a Federal Firearms Transaction Record.
