Hi Point JHP45 9+1 .45 ACP +P 4.5" is this or other Hi Point pistols legal in IL?

Unfortunately no, hipoint pistols are not legal in Illinois because they use metal in the slide that can melt under 800 degrees Fahrenheit. In order for a pistol to be legal in Illinois it has to meet the melting point laws. So unfortunately no hipoint pistol is legal in Illinois. Sorry but hope this helps.

Robert, the way I read it, no Hi-Point pistols are legal in Ill. Prohibited: Cobra, Phoenix Arms, Heritage Arms, Walther rimfire pistols, GSG rimfire pistols,
