  • I’ve owned the 6.5 barrel length but was told to stay away from the 4” being the recoil is outrageous ..really ? 500 is a 500 blow back is massive but will it make a huge difference I checked the of the 8.5 barrel and this performance model and it only differs by about 3 ounces so is it weight that helps with the recoil or barrel length and if I liked the 6.5 should I go with this performance 4” or 8.5 barrel?would really help from someone who maybe owns or shot all three also

  • I've shot all of them and they are all extremely accurate to 200 yards. The 4 inch is a real handful. You can actually feel it twist in your hands when you shoot it with heavy loads but I was still able to hit the 200 yard ram easily offhand. The 8.5 is the best for a primary hunting gun. The 4 inch is something you carry for emergencies.

  • the recoil will be slightly more but the increase in muzzle blast and muzzle rise will make "felt " recoil higher and harder to get off aimed 2nd shots

  • Actual recoil will not be noticeably more but muzzle blast and "Sharper" recoil from the shorter barrel will make it seem like it. A longer barrel tends to lengthen the recoil pulse and the heavier front end of the pistol dampens recoil more over the shorter barrel. Perception is key. If you can shoot a 6", you can shoot a 4" or 8" in my opinion.
