Jason, I believe you are posting the laws for Cook County. The new Illinois state law would override that. It clearly sates "A semiautomatic shotgun that has one or more of the following: i. a pistol grip or thumbhole stock". - It makes no mention of saying a pistol grip attached to a stock is ok.

Again, by this below, my understanding is that if it is a "Stand Alone" pistol grip or One with say an adjustable stock then those types of Semi-Auto shotguns are Prohibited. Not this model though as the stock is fixed with the pistol grip.
Prohibited: a semiautomatic shotgun that has one or more of the following: Only a pistol grip without a stock attached; Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand; A folding, telescoping, or thumbhole stock; A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds -

Hi Keith, the answers below are incorrect. This is NOT Illinois legal. A semi-auto shotgun cannot have a pistol grip.
Prohibited - A semiautomatic shotgun that has one or more of the following:
i. a pistol grip or thumbhole stock;
ii. any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that can be held by the
non-trigger hand;
iii. a folding or thumbhole stock;

v. a fixed magazine with the capacity of more than 5 rounds; or
vi. the capacity to accept a detachable magazine.
